Frequently asked questions
How do we know whether we really need a custom business application?+
Custom software makes sense when the process is important to the business, still relies heavily on spreadsheets, email or several poorly connected tools, and standard software does not solve the problem well. We first assess whether an existing platform can be configured, whether integrations are enough, or whether building a dedicated application is genuinely the better investment.
Do we need to replace all our existing tools?+
No. A business application can act as a central layer around the systems you already use. Your CRM, Microsoft 365 environment, ERP, accounting software or other platforms can remain in place and be connected where appropriate. We only recommend replacing an existing system when its limitations create a real business or technical problem.
Can you migrate our data and integrate existing software?+
Yes, provided the systems offer an API, export or another reliable exchange mechanism. We prepare data mapping, synchronisation rules and test migrations before cutover. For critical integrations, we also implement error handling and logging so the team can see which data was successfully processed and what requires attention.
How do you manage user access and application security?+
Security is designed into the architecture: authentication, roles and permissions, logging of sensitive actions, protection of credentials and secrets, encryption where appropriate, backups and separation of environments. Controls are adapted to the type of data and the organisation’s risk profile. The guiding principle is that each user should access only what their role requires.
Can we start with a smaller version before making a larger investment?+
Yes, and that is often the most sensible approach. We define a first version that already solves a useful part of the problem, such as one workflow or a few essential capabilities, and put it in front of real users. Future investment is then based on actual usage and feedback rather than assumptions about features people may never need.
